Just wanted to say thanks for organising our fabulous trip to Thailand.
We were very impressed with Emirates and can’t believe we haven’t flown with them before; we’ll definitely do so again. Having access from the lounge straight into the gate at Heathrow is such a brilliant idea.
All the transfers worked extremely well, getting us where we needed to be on time and in comfort.
While we didn’t have much time in Phuket the hotel was lovely, and the boys were especially impressed with the gold-leaf steak they had at the hotel restaurant.
Despite the result, they were pleased to join the other guests to watch England in the sports bar at 2 am!
Our time at Elephant Hills was lots of fun and just the right balance of adventure and comfort. Despite the rain, we saw and did everything we could, and the kids loved being so close to the elephants.
Our guide for the three days, Sam, was very attentive and ran a very tight ship with everything on time. The food was very impressive and plentiful considering where we were.
As usual, Austen made friends with a kid his own age who goes to a school we know well, and we met up with them again in Koh Samui later in the week.
Santiburi in Koh Samui was beautiful, and the family room was perfect.
The kids spent most of the time either in the pool, the sea or eating at the restaurants. We made use of the gym, the water-sports equipment, daily free ice-creams and free water by the pool and beach.
The excursion concierge helped us book a trip to the local zip-wire and quad bike adventures which the kids really enjoyed, once we all got over the minimal health and safety briefings!
We ate at the hotel beachside restaurant most nights and were impressed that the management staff knew exactly who everyone was.
It was a curious resort, as even though the numbers at breakfast gave the sense there were plenty of people staying, you never felt the hotel was full as there was always a lounger to be found by the pool or on the beach.
We had a great time and a wonderful feeling of togetherness. Thanks to you and Carrier for putting together such a superb holiday and looking after us so well, both before and during our time away.
