London Luton Airport’s success continues with the announcement of record passenger numbers with over 1.1 million people flying through London Luton Airport in April 2016. That’s 17% more than in April 2015, marking the airport’s 25th consecutive month of passenger growth.
April’s rise brings London Luton Airport’s rolling annual total to more than 13 million passengers for the first time. It is currently investing £110 million to expand its terminal capacity from 12 million to 18 million passengers by 2020.
Earlier this month, plans were also announced for a much needed £200 million mass passenger transit link which will connect London Luton airport to the rail station. The link will replace the shuttle bus and reduce journey times from St Pancras train station to less than 30 minutes, giving it faster access to central London than both Gatwick and Stansted.
