Fly Perth to London non-stop
Australian airline Qantas has launched the first regular non-stop commercial flight between Perth and London. Its’ inaugural flight took place last weekend.
This historic journey took 17 hours and 5 minutes. Three hours shorter than previous routes which required stop overs in the Middle East. 200 passengers and 16 crew members were onboard the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for the 9,226 mile flight. It was the first ever to fly non-stop from Australia to the UK. And the return flight back to Perth departed Heathrow at 1.15pm same day.
Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce praised Flight QF009 as a “truly historic flight that opens up a new era of travel,” as it landed at London Heathrow early on Sunday morning (March 25th). He described the new route, which allows passengers to fly Perth to London direct, as being “great for Australian tourism, for business travelers and for people visiting friends and family on both sides of the world.”
