2019’s Season Finale from Chorleywood Film Club
Capping another successful film season, Chorleywood Film Club’s 2019 season finale showing is The Old Man & The Gun.
If you love steadily paced, old-fashioned story-telling told by a seasoned leading actor and a great cast, then this film is for you. A ‘mostly true’ crime drama is based on the exploits of Forrest Tucker, a charming career criminal (played by Robert Redford).
The screening takes place at The War Memorial Hall on Common Road in Chorleywood. As usual, doors and the bar will open at 7.30pm and the film will start at 8 pm.
The Old Man & the Gun
Forrest Tucker escaped aged 70, from San Quentin prison in 1979 and along with other members of the Over-the-Hill-Gang, pulled off an unprecedented string of bank robberies. Their activities confounded the authorities and enchanted the public.
Police detective John Hunt (Casey Affleck) is caught up in the pursuit and becomes captivated with Forrest’s commitment to his craft. Sissy Spacek plays a woman who grows to love him in spite of his chosen profession.
Robert Redford robs banks and steals your heart.

Tickets for The Old Man & The Gun cost £6 each. Book online in advance or buy them in person from Chorleywood Bookshop on New Parade, Chorleywood. Any remaining tickets will be available on the door on the 26th.
