Chorleywood Film Club's May screening is...

Goodbye Christopher Robin (2017, Cert.PG)

Introducing… Goodbye Christopher Robin

This month’s screening from Chorleywood Film Club is Goodbye Christopher Robin. A behind-the-scenes look at the life of author A.A. Milne and the creation of the Winnie the Pooh stories inspired by his son C.R. Milne.

“We will be friends forever won’t we, pooh?” asked piglet. “No even longer.”

This is a story which mixes the innocence of childhood with the challenge presented by adult trauma created by the legacy of two world wars. It’s the tale of the creation of one of our childhood classics which many of us remember with a fond heart. Well worth watching. For a full account of Goodbye Chirstopher Robin, why not read Mark Kermode’s recent film review.

Directed by Simon Curtis. Written by Frank Cottrell Boyce and Simon Vaughan. And starring Domhnall Gleeson, Margot Robbie, Kelly Macdonald, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Alex Lawther and Will Tilston.
