Our well-travelled travel consultant, Bob Mortimore recently visited the Caribbean islands of St Lucia and Mustique courtesy of Elegant Resorts. During his trip, he visited a series of beautiful hotels including The Landings Resort and Spa, St Lucia. Here are his travel notes from his visit. This is the sixth of a series of seven blog posts which detail Bob’s trip around the two islands.
About The Landings Resort and Spa, St Lucia
Located in Gros Islet, near the northern tip of St Lucia, The Landings Resort and Spa is a beachfront resort of 85 luxury suites over-looking Rodney Bay. Handily positioned, this hotel is just 5 minutes away from the Saint Lucia Golf & Country Club and the shopping, dining and nightlife of Rodney Bay village.
Accommodation
The Landings features spacious one, two and three bedroom elegant, Italian tile floored suites. With stunning waterfront views, each suite comprises of a fully equipped and air-conditioned open plan kitchen, elegant dining and living areas, en suite bedrooms and large open balconies or terraces. - The one bedroom Marina View Suites each have a plunge pool.
- The one bedroom Butler Beachfront View Suites are located directly on the beachfront with full views of Rodney Bay.
- Guests can also choose from two bedroom Marina View Villa Suites, some of which have a plunge pool, two bedroom Villa Suite Beachfront suites and two bedroom Butler Beachfront suites, each of which have a plunge pool.
- There are also a huge variety of three bedroom villa suites, including Marina View Suites (some with a plunge pool), and three bedroom Villa Beachfront Suites, some of which include a plunge pool and butler service.
- In addition there are three bedroom Grand Villa Suites with Marina views and Beachfront locations with over-sized accommodation and plunge pools; butler service can be arranged.
As all suites have a fully equipped kitchen, The Landings Resort and Spa can arrange a full grocery service ready for when you arrive; a week’s notice is required. You can also book your own private chef.
Dining
The Landings features some great places for eating out: the popular Beach Club Restaurant and Bar has lovely beachfront views and offers an ambient dining experience, serving daily breakfast, lunches and dinner with inspired local flavours.
The Viscount Bar, which is located in the Welcome Pavilion, offers a large selection of drinks and cocktails. And the Palms Restaurant offers a fine dining menu, featuring Continental and Caribbean cuisine, ideal for more private, personalised dinners.
Activities
The Landings Resort and Spa has three swimming pools, two hot tubs and two tennis courts. There is also a large spa which features a full spa programme, a Health Club and a yacht marina. Kayaks, sail boats and snorkel equipment can be provided. There is also an active Landings Kid’s Club.
