Bohemian Rhapsody, the latest showing from Chorleywood Film Club
Chorleywood Film Club’s May screening is Bohemian Rhapsody. This is an Oscar winning drama, celebrating Queen and their charismatic lead singer and performer. Moreover, it recently became the most successful musical biopic of all time in box office terms. And with an Oscar winning performance from Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury, it packs quite a punch!
Friday 17th May at the War Memorial Hall on Common Road in Chorleywood. Doors and bar open at 7.30pm and the film starts at 8pm.
Bohemian Rhapsody
This film traces the rise of the band through their iconic, well-loved songs and ground-breaking sound. They achieve unrivalled success but unexpectedly, Freddie Mercury decides to leave to pursue a solo career. He learns this to be a challenging decision, working without the collaboration of his former bandmates. And finally manages to reunite the band just in time for Live Aid 1985. Here they gave one of the greatest performances in rock history which remains legendary to this day.
Directed by Bryan Singer, the film stars: Rami Malek, Joseph Mazzello, Mike Myers, Aidan Gillen, Lucy Boynton, Tom Hollander, Ben Hardy and Gwilym Lee.
Bohemian Rhapsody is a certificate 12 film (134 mins with moderate sex and drug references, infrequent strong language).

Tickets for Chorleywood Film Club’s May screening of Bohemian Rhapsdy cost £6 each. Book online in advance or buy from the excellent Chorleywood Bookshop on New Parade, Chorleywood. And remaining tickets will be available on the door on the 17th.
Doors and bar open from 7.30pm and the programme starts at 8pm.
