Bermuda

Bermuda: a beautiful sub-tropical lush island surrounded by crystal clear waters.

Bermuda enjoys just two seasons – Spring and Summer. Or “Golf and Spa” and “Beach ‘n’ Sizzle” as the locals refer to them.

Add to that the miles of unique pink sand beaches, traditional and contemporary properties to suit all budgets and a vast range of activities including golf, spa and diving, and it means that this is the perfect place to banish the winter blues.

On Bermuda you’re never more than half a mile from its beautiful turquoise waters. Season after season, the island is a sport and water lover’s paradise, offering deep sea fishing, parasailing, waterskiing, kayaking, horse-riding along the shore and much more.

If you’d rather do as the locals do, take it easy. Relaxation is Bermuda’s national pastime, and the island’s spas are a world away from the stresses and strains of modern life. Experience the finest treatments and therapies to help you escape the bleak midwinter back home. Just soaking up the atmosphere on this beautiful island is enough to inspire romance; whether it’s a honeymoon or anniversary. Bermuda is perfect for couples. Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage tour by night or take a lazy stroll along the Railway Trail, a secluded 18-mile route that runs the length of the island with a stunning backdrop of harbour and bay views.

Beach front diners can experience the best of Bermuda’s romantic side – gourmet dining, breath-taking sunsets and professional service. If the climate and the views don’t win you over, then the Bermudians certainly will.

The friendliness of the welcome you’ll receive in Bermuda cannot be underestimated. Its’ rich heritage is a mix of many historic influences, from English colonials, Caribbean blacks and Native Americans to pirates and even US and British military. Tourists have also contributed to the mix with artists, poets and royalty helping produce the uniquely Bermudian identity, characterised by British tradition and warm, friendly people.

Bermuda is an island that is proud of its heritage and embraces the many cultures that have been brought to the island by visitors and settlers alike. The traditional dress of Bermuda shorts is proudly embraced by locals and a bowl of fish chowder and a rum swizzle are never far away! With a colourful and varied cultural history, there’s always somewhere to explore, whether it’s the crystal caves, botanical gardens or one of the 365 off-shore dive wrecks. Add to these the 120 kilometres of dramatic coral coastlines and a packed calendar of local festivals and events and the scene is set for a perfect holiday on an island paradise.

Don’t miss : The pink sand beaches are a must but Bermuda has a packed calendar of events to enjoy too with highlights including:

The PGA Grand Slam of Golf, which takes place in October. This is the season-ending showcase of the year’s Major Champions.

The World Rugby Classic, generally considered to be one of the most enjoyable events on the rugby calendar, is scheduled to take place in November.

Thank you for arranging our trip to Athens. Hotel Hemes in Athens was a short walk away from everything we needed.

Carole

We had a great time in Kefalonia. The whole trip was very smooth and well organised by Ionian, and we would definitely use them again if going to that part of the world. We were also lucky with the weather, and even the hire car, as it appeared most of those who booked ahead of us had taken all the small cars leaving us with something slightly roomier and more powerful.

Living in Chorleywood, it gave us peace of mind to be able to speak directly to someone knowledgeable and book with a local Agent.
